Gives the quality requirements in cases where a contract requires the supplier to demonstrate a capability to design and supply a service or product (includes installation and servicing). The specified requirements are aimed primarily at preventing nonconformity at all stages (from design to servicing). Applies in contracts when: confidence in product conformance can be reached by satisfactory demonstration of certain supplier's capabilities in development, design, production, servicing and installation; the contract specifically requires design effort and the product requirements are expressed principally in terms of performance or they need to be established.
