Defines the mechanical properties of set screws and similar threaded fasteners not under tensile stresses, having nominal thread diameters between 1.6 mm and 24 mm inclusive, made from carbon steel or alloy steel. Applicable for testing at an ambient temperature between 10 and 35 deg C, which will vary at higher or lower temperatures. Not applicable to set screws requiring special properties, eg specified tensile stresses, weldability, corrosion resistance and ability to withstand temperatures above + 300 deg C or below -50 deg c.
