This standard specifies the classification,designation,specification,requirements,test methods,inspection rules,labeling,packaging,transport and storage of glass fiber mats made from chopped strand or continuous filament(hereinafter referred to as mat). This standard is applicable to glass fiber mats made from glass fiber chopped strand mat(hereinafter referred to as chopped strand mat) or made from glass fiber continuous filament mat(hereinafter referred to as continuous strand mat)used as reinforcement for reinforced plastics or cementing material.Glass fiber filament mat or needled mat can also refer to this standard. This standard is not applicable to glass fiber stitched mat,glass fiber veil mat or other glass fiber mats used for thermal and acoustic insulation.
