Describes construction and testing of electrical apparatus, parts of electrical apparatus and Ex components encapsulating "m", for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. Applies to electrical apparatus, with voltages not exceeding 11 kV. Does not include, surface temperature, on time delay enclosure, enclosure material, temperature index, threaded holes in enclosures of plastic material, fasteners, interlocking devices, cable and conduit entries, switchgear, fuses, warning label, impact tests, tests for degree of protection for enclosures, tests in explosive mixtures, tests of clamping of non-armoured cables and tests of clamping of armoured cables.
