This code provides:\nminimum energy-efficiency requirements for:\nnew installation of systems and equipment in buildings;\nreplacement of systems and equipment in buildings; and\nreplacement of components of systems and equipment in buildings.\ncriteria for determining compliance with these requirements.\nThe provisions of this code apply to the following systems and equipment used in conjunction with buildings:\nair-conditioning equipment;\nheat rejection equipment;\nwater heaters;\nmotor drives, and\nhigh efficiency lighting.\ndistribution transformers\nlifts and escalators\nThis code shall not prevail over any safety, health or environmental requirements.
