Gives requirements for manual, semi-automatic, automatic and mechanized are welding of carbon and carbon manganese steel of maximum carbon equivalent of 0.54 in all product forms including circular and rectangular hollow sections. In addition to definitive requirements, it also requires documentation of given items. Both definitive requirements and documented items have to be satisfied to achieve compliance. Does not include all requirements for welding of steel for concrete reinforcement. Excludes requirements for cast to cast fabrications which are covered in BS 4570.
