Gives an engineering method to measure the noise emitted by accelerating road vehicles. Designed to meet the needs of simplicity as far as they are consistent with reproducibility of results and realism under the operating conditions of the vehicle. The specifications are meant to reproduce the noise levels in urban use of traffic flow of irregular character which needs the intermediate gears with full utilization of the engine power that is available.
