Part 5 of this Singapore Standard specifies requirements for the substances and materials used in chemical toys (sets) other than experimental sets. It specifies:\nthe maximum amounts of dangerous substances or preparations; and\nthe maximum amounts of substances and preparations which in excessive amounts may harm the health of children using them; and\nthe maximum amounts for other substances or preparations delivered with the toy.\nAdditionally, requirements are specified for markings, warning, safety rules, contents list, instructions for use and first aid information.\nThis part of SS 474 applies to:\nplaster of Paris (gypsum) moulding sets;\nceramic and vitreous enamelling materials supplied in miniature workshop sets;\noven hardening plasticised PVC-modelling clay sets;\nplastic moulding sets;\nembedding sets;\nphotographic developing sets;\nadhesives, paints, lacquers, varnishes, thinners and cleaning agents (solvents) supplied or recommended in model sets.\nChemical Abstract Service Registry Number (CAS) and European Inventory of Existing Chemical Substances Number (EINECS) given in Tables 1 to 15 are provided for information purposes only.\n
