Defines the methods to be used for measuring the level of noise of vacuum cleaners and for informing consumers of it. Applies to dry pick-up portable electric vacuum cleaners for household and similar, supplied from mains or from batteries. Does not apply to: vacuum cleaners designed exclusively for industrial purposes; centrally sited vacuum cleaners; the wet pick-up function of multi-purpose vacuum cleaners; suction floor polishers.
