This paper is suitable for use by both structural designers who are new to formwork design, and for experienced formwork designers wishing to become more familiar with AS 3610, Formwork for Concrete. A concrete structure has been chosen which incorporates most of the common elements for which formwork is required, and calculations are set out for the determination of the loads and load combinations, and the analysis and design of formwork assembly. Methods for simplifying the more repetitive elements of design are suggested.
