Defines a procedure for enumerating culturable micro-organisms in water by counting the colonies formed in a nutrient agar culture medium, following aerobic incubation at 36 deg C and 22 deg C. Especially applies to the examining of water for human consumption, including water in closed containers and natural mineral waters.
