In the appliance safety series, this Standard is to be read as a supplement to the General requirements (AS 3300/NZS 6300, ±IEC 335-1 second edition, see Basic information above). It modifies the corresponding clauses to apply to heaters designed to heat water while it flows over the heating element, to a temperature below its boiling point. Particular features specified include leakage current, pressure relief, operation when frozen, and outlet temperature limits. Does not apply to electrode type water heaters. Based on IEC 60335-2-35:1982.Approved electrical safety Standard.
