Proposes the characteristics, methods of test and packaging of three grades of automotive brake fluid of the non-petroleum type, for use in the hydraulic braking systems of motor vehicles. This draft Standard includes testing for swelling of styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) and terpolymer of ethylene, propylene and diene (EPDM) seals in contact with brake fluid containing 1.5 percent water. Proposed as a Joint Australian/New Zealand Standard.
