This International Standard specifies a method for the measure- ment of ease of ignition of vertically oriented textile fabrics in- tended for apparel, curtains and draperies in the form of single- or multi-component (coated, quilted, multilayered, sandwich construction and similar combinations) fabrics. This method should be used solely to assess the proper- ties of materials or systems in response to heat and flame under controlled conditions. Results may not apply to situations where there is restricted air supply or pro- longed exposure to large sources of intense heat as in a conflagration.
