Sets the dimensional requirements, materials and marking of three basic types of image quality indicator, consisting of wires of different diameters of drilled holes of different diameters in steps of different thicknesses and of duplex wire elements having graded dimensions. Suitable for assessing the quality of radiographs in materials having a thickness of 3 mm to 250 mm while the duplex wire type is suitable for material thicknesses 10 mm to 250 mm. Guidance on the use of these image quality indicators and typical image quality values appropriate to each type are given.
