Covers requirements for inhalational anaesthetic breathing systems for adults which are supplied either assembled by the manufacturer or for assembly by the user in compliance with the manufacturer's instructions.Covers circle absorber assemblies, exhaust valves, inspiratory and expiratory valves and some parts of anaesthetic breathing systems that are incorporated within an anaesthetic workstation. Does not cover the performance of breathing systems with regard to the elimination of expired carbon dioxide, as this is complex and depends on the interaction of the patient, fresh-gas flow, carbon dioxide absorbent and thebreathing system itself.
