Defines the requirements for the preparation of master record indexes, illustrates various formats and defines the application of MRI to design documentation. This NES has been reissued in two parts. Existing text and sections have been revised and a preface and family tree format and new sections 5, 8, 9 and 11 added. Applicable to all future warship equipment projects, except guided weapons for which DEFSTAN 05-123 applies, and ships master records for which NES 41 applies.
