Provides sampling plans and procedures for inspection by variables. When specified by the responsible authority may be referred to in a product or process specification, contract, inspection instructions, or other relevant documents and the provisions set forth therein shall apply. Gives methods to ensure that lots of an acceptable quality have a high acceptance probability but the rejection probability of inferior lots is as high as possible. Uses the percentage of non-conforming products, or the percent defective, to define the quality of these lots and of the production process in question. Lists designated conditions.
