The method described is applicable to homogeneous liquid hydrocarbon mixtures with an initial boiling point of 60degreeC, which are miscible with cyclohexane. Whilst concentrations of cyclopentadiene exceeding 5% by volume interfere with the determination, there is no interference from ethyl alcohol at concentrations below 10% by volume and from toluene at concentrations below 25% by volume.
