This Standard is included in DIN Handbook 117 and 143. The performance of coating materials and protective systems is to be assessed on the basis of their behaviour when exposed to weathering and other forms of corrosion load, as well as by way of mechanical testing and chemical analysis. Provides information on the composition of binders and pigments and indicates methods to be used in their analysis. The naming of a coating material after its binder assumes that the proportion by mass of the binder will be as specified in Table 1, and when it is named after the pigment, that the proportion by mass of that pigment will be as specified in Table 2.
