This standard serves to determine the properties specified in DIN 488 Part 1 and to check the dimensions specified in DIN 488 Part 2 for ribbed reinforcing steel bars of Grades BSt 420 S and BSt 500 S. See DIN 488 Part 7 for procedure and evaluation of tests for verifying the weldability of reinforcing steel bars, and DIN 488 Part 5 for the methods of testing reinforcing steel fabric and wire.
