METHODS OF TESTING VULCANIZED RUBBER - DETERMINATION OF ELECTRIC STRENGTH
出版:British Standards Institution

专家解读视频
Describes two methods of determining short-time electric strength (breakdown voltage) of insulating vulcanized rubber (including ebonite) and of solid plastics materials using a voltage with a frequency of 50 Hz. One method of measuring electric strength is by rapidly increasing voltage until breakdown occurs and the other is by a steady increase in voltage step-by-step at 20 s intervals. Describes test pieces and electrode systems for tests on a variety of materials and forms of material. Tests are carried out normal and parallel to planes of sheet materials and tubes and parallel to axes of rods. Covers definitions, form of test pieces, electrodes and test assemblies, electrical apparatus, conditioning, conditions of test, procedure, expression of results and test report.
