Applies to any size of any type of reaction or impulse turbine & in particular to turbines directly coupled to electric generators. Its purpose is to define terms & quantities which are used, to establish methods of testing & the way of measuring the quantities involved, so as to ascertain the performance of the turbine and to verify the guarantees.
