This is the autobiography of leading consulting engineer John Rankine, chairman and founding partner of Rankine & Hill, which eventually became Connell Wagner. He takes us through the highlights of his professional career, from his first job as a draughtsman, through army life during World War II, to university and his first job as an engineer. After a stint in England and postgraduate study in the US, he and John Hill formed Rankine & Hill. And the rest, as they say, is histroy.
