Proposes dimensions, material, mechanical properties and marking requirements, and includes methods of test for mechanical properties, for bolts and screws with coarse pitch series threads in diameters M1.6 to M36 and in property classes 4.6, 5.8, 8.8, 9.8, 10.9 and 12.9. Appendices cover non-preferred sizes, the basis for the derivation of tolerances, shank and head dimensions over M36, split cotter pin fasteners, bolt/screw and nut combinations, a suggested sampling plan for mechanical property tests, and complete designation of a fastener. Proposed as a Joint Australian/New Zealand Standard.
