Specifies torque-tension test requirements for prevailing-torque type steel Metric hex nuts and hex flange nuts, - with hex nut nominal thread diameters M6 thru M24, - with hex flange nut nominal thread diameters M6 thru M20 - property classes 9 and 10, - with mechanical and performance properties in conformance with ANSI B18.16.1M - 1979, - with a surface finish which is either cadmium electroplated with a supplementary EP (extreme pressure) lubricant, or phosphate coated (zinc or manganese) with a rust preventative oil containing a substantial amount of an EP lubricant.
