Pertains to gravel, sand and soil (silts and clays) and describes a method to determine the relationship between the moisture content and dry density of a material compacted in a 152 mm diameter mould using a total effort of 2427 kNm per metre cubed, and the maximum dry density and optimum moisture content from the relationship (compaction curve) obtained.
