General notes:
Following publication of the EN, there is a period allowed for national calibration during which the National Annex is issued, followed by a coexistence period of a maximum 3 years. During the coexistence period Member States are encouraged to adapt their national provisions. BS EN 1997-2 will replace BS 5930:1999.

Replaces notes:
Replaces DD ENV 1997-2:2000 and DD ENV 1997-3:2000 which are withdrawn. Partially replaces BS 5930:1999 and BS 1377-9:1990.
