Describes safety requirements and associated methods of test for direct gas-fired tumble dryers for domestic purposes having an input not exceeding 3 kW and burning 2nd or 3rd family gases. Applies only to appliances in which the burner operation is under control of a full sequence automatic control system. Not applicable to type B, type C, tumble dryers designed exclusively for industrial or commercial purposes, tumble dryers intended to be used in locations where special conditions prevail, condensation type tumble dryers wherein the heated air and products of combustion used for the drying process are dehumidified by cooling with water or air, and tumble dryers intended to be used in vehicles on board ships or aircraft.
