Proposes the adoption of ISO/IEC 7813:1995 and its Amendment 1:1996. ISO/IEC 7813 specifies the requirements for cards used in financial transactions. It contains layout, recording techniques, numbering systems, registration procedures, but not security requirements. It takes into consideration both human and machine aspects and states minimum requirements of conformity. The complete text can be viewed at the Sydney and Melbourne Information Centres of Standards Australia. Arrangements can be made to view copies at other Standards Australia branches if required.
