This Standard is included in DIN Handbook 143, 175, 286/2. Applies to electrodeposited zinc and cadmium coatings on iron and steel products, which may additionally be chromated (i.e. provided with a chromate conversion coating). It specifies minimum periods of resistance to corrosion and recommends the coating thickness required for various levels of severity of the service conditions. Such coatings, or coating systems, are designed for corrosion protection and/or for decorative purposes.
Applies in conjunction with DIN EN 12329. (09/2000) Supersedes DIN 50941 (07/2002) DRAFT 2010 issued in June 2010. (07/2010)
