Describes and explains the process of light loss in outdoor electric lighting systems due to environmental, operating and age related conditions and examines the strategies to reverse and compensate for this loss. Sets out procedures for the estimation of appropriate maintenance factors to make allowance for light losses in design calculations, and for the determination of economic maintenance regimes and cycles.
