Describes test and measurement procedures for use in detail specifications for mercury wetted change over contact units, magnetically biased of assessed quality. Also gives quality assessment procedures and rules for writing corresponding detail specifications. Applies only to mercury wetted change over contact units operated by an applied magnetic field in addition to the biasing magnetic field and is not limited to any particular type of contact load. The biasing magnetic field can be achieved by fields of either electromagnetic or permanent magnetic materials, in or outside the contact unit.
