Applies to single-phase a.c. one-pole circuit-breakers designedfor indoor or outdoor fixed installations for operation atfrequencies of 16 2/3 Hz and 50 Hz on traction systems having aUNm above 1 kV up to 52 kV. Also applies to two-pole circuit-breakers when connected in the following manner: one pole supplying the connection to the contact line of the track, thesecond pole supplying the connection to the feeder cable whichruns alongside the same track and is used to boost the trackvoltage at regular intervals in combination with autotransformers. The centre of this circuit is connected to earth. Does not address circuit-breakers with dependent manualoperating mechanism.
