Gives a test method for determining the chemical resistance of the surface of glazed ceramic tiles at room temperature but the pencil test is only applied to glazes from which pencil marks can be removed by means of a dry cloth; if not the glazes can be classified by the change in appearance resulting from chemical action. The stain test is not applicable to tiles describes as part glazed. Apparatus description and shows examples of an experimental arrangement and a classification scheme for tests with household chemicals, swimming pool salts, acids and alkalis.
