Lays down an absolute method for determining the steady-state thermal transmission properties of insulating materials over the temperature range -20 Degrees C to 100 Degrees C using guarded hot-plate apparatus having an overall plate width or diameter greater than 300 mm. If it is necessary to use a hot-plate of another size, then the specimen size and other related parameters will have to be modified proportionately. Covers definitions, restrictions on the determination of thermal conductivity and resistivity, principle, laboratory environment, apparatus, test specimens, procedure, expression of results and test report.
