Sets out the testing and examination of new and modified equipment covered by BS 5655 : Parts 1, 2 and 11. This Part differentiates between testing and examination at the time of commissioning, and subsequent periodic examinations. Supplements the requirements of appendix D of BS 5655 Part 1 : 1986. Includes types of certificate showing compliance with BS 5655 which cover construction, aspects of performance, and contract data. Evidence of test certificates relating to certain components of the equipment is also covered. Additional advice for testing of progressive safety gears which have not been type tested in accordance with BS 5655 : Part 1 are also given.
