Gives uniform procedures for gathering and presenting data; a) on hull vibration in single or multiple-shaft sea-going merchant ships b) for vibration of population-shaft systems as it affects hull vibration This data is necessary for establishing uniformly the vibration characteristics of hull and propulsion-shaft systems and to give a basis for improvements, design predictions, and comparison against vibration reference levels. Where applicable, the procedures can be used also for inland ships and tug boats.
