Pertains to residual current operated circuit-breakers functionally independent of, or functionally dependent on, line voltage, for household and similar uses, not incorporating overcurrent protection (hereafter referred to as RCCBs), for rated voltages not exceeding 440 V a.c. and rated currents not exceeding 125 A, for fixed installa-tions intended principally for protection against shock hazard.
Together with BS EN 61008-2-1 & BS IEC 1008-2.2, it supersedes BS4293(1983). Supersedes 88/22488 DC, 95/204384 DC, 97/202575 DC, 97/207742 DC, 97/207509 DC, 97/207743 DC, 03/307802 DC, 07/30162124 DC, 08/30176716 DC, 10/30237874 DC & 07/30169767 DC. 2004 + A12 2009 version remains current and will be withdrawn on 02/01/2015. 2004 + A13 2012 version along with its corrigendum is still active & will be withdrawn on 18-01-2017. 2012 Edition Re-issued in November 2014 & incorporates AMD1/AMD2 & Corrigendum 2014. 2012 Edition remains current and will be withdrawn on 04-08-2017.
