Describes range hoods incorporating electrical equipment, such as fans, lamps and controls, for mounting above household cooking ranges, ovens and similar cooking appliances. Excludes electrostatically operated range hoods and range hoods incorporating ozone producing air purifying devices. Does not apply to range hoods for industrial purposes or for use in locations where a corrosive or explosive atmosphere may be present. Range hoods used in vehicles or on board ships or aircraft, additional requirements may be necessary.
