Advises on the selection and installation of electric and hydraulic lifts in buildings for passengers, goods and service to BS 5655. Excludes homelifts, stairlifts, lifting platforms, etc. for the disabled, scissor lifts, builders' hoists, paternosters, rack and pinion hoists, screw-driven lifts, theatrical lifts, lifts with automatic loading, skips, construction and maintenance appliances and order pickers. Includes sections on guidance to contracting parties, building construction, electric lifts for passengers and goods, hydraulic lifts for passengers and goods and observation lifts.
