Gives a method for determining the leaktightness of an assembly of thermoplastics pipes and associated fittings subjected to a low level of internal hydrostatic pressure. Suitable for pipes and/or fittings of any size for non-pressure applications, to check that the dimensions and form of the coupling zone(s) of the pipe or fitting are satisfactory for a leaktight assembly at room temperature with or without seals.
