Sets out safety requirements for ULTRASONIC THERAPY EQUIPMENT used in medical practice. Does not apply to EQUIPMENT in which a tool is driven by ULTRA-SOUND, i.e., EQUIPMENT used in surgery or dentistry, or in which focused ULTRA-SOUND pulse waves are used to destroy conglomerates such as stones in the kidneys or the bladder (lithotrites). Includes sections on protection against electric shock, mechanical hazards, radiation, explosions in medically used rooms, excess temperatures, fire, etc., accuracy of operating data and protection against incorrect output, fault conditions and environmental tests.
