Suggests materials, manufacturing details and performance requirements for gloves that afford protection to the hands and, as appropriate, to the wrists of the wearer when carrying out manual operations that are common in industrial work. Does not cover gloves made from elastomers, gloves that may be used for special purposes to afford protection against flame and high temperatures, gloves made from knitted fabrics, gloves made of chain mail, and gloves whose is limited to specialized areas of industry.
