Mainly intended for identifying equipment or part of the equipment, designating connections, indicating functional states, providing instruction for operation of equipment and packaging information. Reference information is provided to assist the user in finding suitable graphic symbols. It is not intended for the purpose of reproduction and symbols defined are not intended primarily for public information, safety signs, and for use for drawings and in technical documentation of products. When using graphic symbols as safety signs the rules in ISO 3864 apply.
