Defines general requirements for constructing and testing, together with test procedures applicable to personal, portable, transportable and fixed apparatus for direct detecting and concentration measurement of a toxic gas or vapour in workplace air. Applicable to apparatus whose main use is the indication of the presence of an atmospheric toxic gas or vapour intended for provision of an indication or warning of the presence of a toxic hazard within a specified response time (see EN 45544-2 and EN 45544-3).
