Outlines methods for preparing specimens and for determining characteristic properties of ASA, AES and ACS moulding materials as defined in DIN 16777 Pt 1, and other properties, with the aim of achieving reproducible results when these proeprties are measured. Properties of products made of such materials are influenced by type of moulding material used, component design, and final condition of the products, these in turn being dependent upon manufacturing conditions and type of subsequent treatment applied. Thererfore, values obtained using the test methods set out are only applicable to specimens of the form specified, prepared as specified and not to specimens of different dimensions or prepared by different procedures.
