Gives safety requirements for electrically operated commercial kitchen machines not meant for household use. Their rated voltage being not more than 250 V for single phase appliances connected between one phase and neutral, and 480 V for other appliances. Acoustical noise (see Annex ZAA) and hygiene are also covered in this standard. The appliances are for use in restaurants, canteen, hospitals and commercial enterprises such as bakeries. Not applicable to appliances designed exclusively for industrial purposes, continual process appliances for mass production of food appliances intended for use in locations with special conditions.
