The UK did not support this standard at the CEN Enquiry stage andvoted against its acceptance at Formal Vote stage. The objections were: a) 4.1 requires that the remainder shall be water but there is no method for water content and the remainder will also include traces of impurities; b) according to the information in 5.2.1.6 the method for determining the acetic acid content is very imprecise.Applies to acetic acid used for the treatment of water meant for human consumption. It gives the characteristics of acetic acid along with the requirements and corresponding test methods.
