Included in this standard is ISO 9001/ISO 9002 quality system requirements and gives extra ones for the quality system of aerospace industry suppliers that are involved in maintenance activities. For the suppliers that are not involved in design activities (ISO 9002), 4.4 does not apply. It is emphasized that the quality system requirements given in this standard are complementary (not alternative) to the contractual and applicable law and regulatory requirements.
